What tune in your playlist/radio are you listening to currently? I'm digging Danzig so far.

Psean

Misled - Only the Deaf Are Safe ? Their latest - been waiting on this for a long time now and it'll be on repeat for a good while still.

Squonk

John Lennon's first real serious album "Plastic Ono Band"

Thanks Jack - will check 'em out. Not too many lady singers in my collection, although lately Best Coast (scuzzy rock) and Mixtapes (a bit punkish with male/female vocals) have been played a lot

Squonk you have good taste ... must be a cosmic coincidence but I have had this DVD on repeat all morning.
Anthony Wilson is a monster but Diana Krall is much more visually stimulating ? helps she plays the crap out of the piano and has an amazing voice too.

She has a new album out. Made her tea a couple of times.... which is exactly what it sounds like.

Jayhell

NEw ZZ-Top (Awesome!). Eddie Veder - Into the wild (Love his Voice). Jack White - Blunderbuss (a bit disappointing, but I'll give it a while.) Smoking Mojos (some local talent, nice!)

Squonk

Carl Verheyen - "Trading 8's" and "Solo Guitar Improvisations"

BVG

The new Gaslight Anthem album Handwritten... Their major label debut.

Straight forward, no nonsense, blue collar rock! \m/ ?\m/

Two discs I bought at concerts in the UK.

Martin Simpson - Righteousness & Humidity. This has rather more electric guitar than I'm used to on a Simpson album, and that's not a bad thing. Often he overdubs himself, notably on his version of "Rollin' and Tumblin'" with a fab slide electric slide solo over his own acoustic guitar.

Spiers and Boden - The Works. Bought at half time at a gig in Banbury. They were fab! Operating as a duo (Jon Boden turns out to be a more than useful guitar player as well as an ace fiddler) they produced some of the danciest, most joyous music I've ever heard. I don't know their oeuvre very well, and I think this is a "best of" CD. I recognise a lot of tracks from the concert, especially the sing-along "Bold Sir Rylas" which is just one step above nonsense but great fun.

Cleric

The new Mumord and Sons Album, Babel, is rocking my world at the moment. These guys are just too pure.

? man oh man... George Benson and Carlos Santana

Well... all the songs have been on previous Spiers and Boden albums, but the recordings here are all new.

Lisa Hannigan - Sea Sew

You might have heard her on the first two Damien Rice Albums

Squonk

watching Jeff Lang Live at the Basement - amazing Australian acoustic guitarist with some good lap steel playing.

Don't know much about him, but he seems to have influenced plenty of guitarists worldwide including John Butler. Has an amazing bending technique!

Got 2 Cd's this weekend

Rush Live in Rio
Loudon Wainright - Here Come the Choppers

Both completely contrasting but equally good stuff.

Loudon Wainright has some serious musicians on this album. Bill Frisell, Greg Leisz - These are monster guitar players.
