I'm digging this... Djent mixed with anything is great as long as its done well. Its more interesting than the usual generic djent out there.

To be fair I gave it another go. I never got into the Satch/Vai instrumental stuff, just seems like aimless noodling, awkward structures, I cant even call it a composition, always feels like more chords and beats to justify another solo. This sounds no different than any of that to me, even with the downplayed djent angle.
