What are you listening to right now...

What tune in your playlist/radio are you listening to currently? I'm digging Danzig so far.

giggsy

Trying to fit in quite a bit of new stuff from Ryan Adams, Kasabian, Blink 182, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Coldplay and Bombay Bicycle Club

domhatch

You're ashamed to be listening to Tori Amos?

You've nothing to fear. I've 'fessed up, on this very forum, to listening to Abba (also to wearing crocs).

Listening to In Flames for the first time and LOVING every moment!

@Dee - discovering In Flames for the first time is a great moment, I envy that. (Need that Men In Black mindwipe gizmo so that every album is new all over again!)

I'm surprising myself by listening the Mass Effect soundtrack. (The videogame). It is awesome. I'm always delving for non-repetitive, not too dancy electronica, not an easy task.

Ray

Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth. The thread where everyone wanted to get the Cool Runnings whacked made me think of that so I downloaded it - just the song becasue I've only got an old elpee of it somewhere in my garage. But it's a lovely song.

Mannoroth

Skeleton Witch - Album: Beyond The Permafrost... Very cool Thrashy / Black

Reinhard

Slash's Solo album. Fergie has some pipes!

Bob-Dubery

PJ Harvey - Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea

Not much like I expected actually. Which is not a bad thing, just .... unexpected.

Love that album.

Bob you should try her last album Let England Shake, very different to Stories, as well.
She's a bit like Bowie - musical chameleon, always reinventing herself on each album.
Let England Shake even features some old school barbershop style backing vocals.

Squonk

Stumbled on some Blind Guardian

Various stuff but listening to a live version of "The Bards song, in the Forest" Enjoying it hectically.

Richard Thompson - Mirror Blue

Interesting in the light of all the Metallica/Lou Reed brouhaha. This is the album on which Thompson and producer Mitchell Froom decided to push the envelope and it was widely condemned by the fans and by the critics (who usually can be mistaken for Thompson fans anyway). They let the production and especially the unusal percussion treatments and the dry vocals distract them from the truth - namely that this album is full of excellent songs and great playing (not just by Himself - the rhythm section of Jerry Scheff and Pete Thomas are in great form).

Squonk

Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache and Alive or Just Breathing

giggsy

Revisiting some Damien Rice.

Moving stuff

VellaJ

Some awesome guys I discovered relatively recently; ZZ Top, "My Head's in Mississippi" ?

Bob-Dubery

Donald Fagen - The Nightfly.

Tone

Pink Floyd, Wish You Where Here, Vinyl reissue.

Squonk

Monte Montgomery - Live at Workplay
Newton Faulkner - Rebuilt by humans

This afternoon on the way home will be Martin Taylor Artistry and Various Richard Thompson

BMU

Decapitated - Carnival is Forever.

Probably my favourite "brutal" DM band. This album finally "clicked" a few days ago (you know how that happens sometimes), now I'm really enjoying it. Not the best thing they've ever done but still good.
