Have been emersing myself in some good old Deep Purple.
There is a part that I just love.
Perfect Strangers - 02:00
Dual vocals singing:
"If you hear me talking on the wind ... you got to understand ... we must remain ... perfect strangers ..."
Spine tingling ...
The more I listen to it, the more I like it ...

thanks to a post on another thread, i popped 'the commitments' soundtrack into the cd player on the way to work this morning. sheesh. so very, veeeeeery tight, especially in the rhythm section, and those little brass stabs here and there are sublime. 'mustang sally' possibly the most recognisable and commercially accessible tune on there, but my personal faves would be 'chain of fools' and 'i can't stand the rain'.
rather brill

Blast from the past, had one or two of their tracks stuck in my head the last few days, so I just had to give it a spin.

Something very different for me - The Knux...
Caught this performance on Letterman on the weekend. As soon as I heard that it was a hip hop band I reached for the remote to delete it, but then I saw a couple of guitars, so i thought I'd give it a listen... Damn me for stereotyping - it was awesome, kind of like a cross between Bloc Party and Outkast. This song has been in my head all weekend, so I bought the album and was seriously impressed - Run was worth the price alone but there are a couple other rock/rap gems on there too.
