I find in the last five tracks they seem to reference Lily Allen (in a musical way) quite heavily. Bizarre.

I'm also revisiting the 90s currently. Ick, I know, but there were some great bands in among the crud. I've found one of my faves - Kula Shaker - and I can't get 'K' out of my head at the moment, really enjoying Crispian Mills' playing. Perhaps not technically brilliant, but just having a particularly wonderful effect on me. It happens, y'know?

And he used a beat-up 1970s Strat! Unfortunately, although I still enjoy Govinda...too much of a novelty act to stand the test of time for me. :-[

Hahahaha. Yep, band. Their debut album, Against Perfection, is one of the finest to come out of the '90s, AFAIC. ?

I've started listening to a band that initially dismissed as being utter crap, namely Periphery. I first heard them and didn't like the singer much but thought the riffs were catchy, then I kept hearing more and more about them and figured it was time to bite the bullet and listen to the whole album and I must say I really like it. I'm sure I'll get tired of it eventually and I'm still not mad about the vocals but there are some amazing ideas floating around on the album and the production is great ?

I realise there's a lot of boring generic stuff already out there, and that a lot of it is hard for some people to take in. However I honestly feel that this whole djent thing is pretty much the greatest movement to happen in metal in the last like 5 years ? Anything that tends to involve 7 and 8 strings using polymetrics is pretty much win in my book ? After Metalcore hit I had seriously given up hope on metal, but this djent stuff helps bring a new found interest in the scene ?

I guess it feels like they're trying to be clever or something, not to make music... probably sounds weird coming from me. I dunno.. just don't like the album so far!

I'm revisiting Reign In Blood / South of Heaven for the first time in years, inspired by Seventhson's 'attempt at a slayer solo' thread. I'd forgotten just how damn good that stuff is. Wow. And they can actually solo way better than I remembered.

All the tracks are great, but my favourite is 'Walking on the moon' really catchy beginning...those first few notes ?
