If you like CoC you should give Clutch a listen (particularly Blast Tyrant)
Skywalker
Heard of them but never gave them a listen.
I'll give em a spin for sure.

Scar Symmetry, Holographic Universe album (again/still). I think I like it more than the latest one. Been using it as a production reference, trying to get my music to sound halfway professional.

The one and only Amon Amarth! 8)

Nick Drake - Bryter Later. Magical stuff, especially the triple whammy of "Fly", "Poor Boy" and "Northern Sky" on what would have been the 2nd side of the album back when this was made. The harmonic movements in Drake's music are so interesting and pulled off so well. Great playing from the various sessions musos and a beautiful recording that sets everything out so well.

This just doesn't need to be explained ?

Need a fix of some Jack White later!
But at the moment listening to the new Weezer - typically good stuff, especially seeing as its their second release in a year - and then got the new Brendan Flowers (lead singer from the Killers solo album), the new Interpol and the new Manic Street Preachers lined up! 8)

I quite like the album. Some very cool riffs on the first few songs.
Also listening to a band called VersaEmerge. Look them up if you like Paramore or The Used.
PacMan

Eagles of death metal

Are they any good? Read quite a bit about them and there are lots of White Stripes comparisons - is that valid or are those just because its a drummer and guitarist?
raithza
I think they're damn good. White stripes comparisons are made because it's a 2 piece blues-inspired garage band, but they are quite different. Black keys are 100% blues and more chilled out. White stripes are more experimental, and a lot more energetic.
I like them both...

Very cool - thanks. Gonna have to get hold of some of their albums!

Robert Plants Band of Joy
I personally think it's a great Album. Didn't get blown away after the first two listens, but had another go this morning.
It's one of those Albums you can listen from the first track to the last. Great arrangements and musicianship.
A bit country, rootsy, blues and some 60's sounding numbers like 'You cant by my Love'
Excellent backing vocals as well, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller and Darrell Scott all complimenting Robert sublimely!
Look and Listen have got quite a couple of copies in.
Listening to some old Prog Rock now. Camel - Snow Goose, excellent stuff!!!
