It's interesting how in a live situation tone is as important (if not more so) than technique but yet we concentrate so much on technique and 'gear' rather than tone itself!
Indeed, a lot of us guitar players seem to listen with our eyes. We (not all guitar players but some) tend to check out the gear first, technique second, showmanship third and then the tone. However, there are a few tonehounds on here who really listen.

Indeed. His sound has just got this roundness, clarity & sustain to it that just feels good and wholesome.
Although, IMO, Herring & Krantz were also pretty damn good in the tone department (Herring especially)
