I know it's irrational, but I reckon we should have a thread where you can post links to guitars you want real bad, and guitars you think are just downright sexy. I'll [obviously] go first.... Its not aGibson or Epiphone but still looks good.

That guy also plays for Jak de Priester, can't remember his name, but he has the most awesome hand tattoos. ?

New production guitar from Hugh Manson, called the MA-2. To me one of the most stunning Tele evolutions.

giggsy

Dee... thats not fair - you cant do this to us just after pay day. Love at first sight with that guitar.

nicovlogg

Stunning tele. Just wish more people would build them with sculpted heels? If you're paying that much for a custom guitar, surely that should be an option...

Some more REALLY BEAUTIFUL Telecaster's by Fender Master Builders!

Handlaid inlays by Fender Master Builder Yuriy Shishkov for a show in Italy. All inlay is hand done by Yuriy with NO NC machines!!!

At first I thought cool... a tele shape bass... but nope, doesn't do it for me:

This is a "Noveau" from luthier Michael Spalt.

There's a whole "family" of these....

Nah... dont do it for me!!!

Looks like he was looking for a way to get rid of all of his off-cuts pieces of wood.

make-and-do

Does it come with a complimentary patch leather jacket?? ?

I like the look of this

Versoul Buxom Minor 6

I like the contrast of the blue top and the flamed maple back and sides. I like that it's a solid blue rather than a blue burst. The smokey scratch guard adds another strong but pleasing contrast.

However this also illustrates the problem with guitar porn. I wouldn't want to own that guitar particularly. Maple back and sides on an acoustic? Me no like. Well... I like the look if it's done well (and it is done well here) but I don't like the sound. Too bright, too trebly. I'd like to look at it, might even like to hold it, but I doubt I'd like to play it and I wouldn't want to take it home.

singemonkey

Looks like a Cash Converters special to me ?

Jack-Flash-Jr

The shape and the fret markers are cool. Um.

Is it just me or have you ever noticed how only guitar players worry more about what there instrument looks like than what is sounds or feels like. Can you imagine saying awesome looking saxophone dude I love that hexagonal shape and the titanium and cobalt inlays, or I just got a baby grand piano in sunburst with maple and rosewood keys. On the other hand guitarist will choose a guitar that shape is ergonomically challenging because it looks cool, even wear the guitar round their knees to complete the coolness. Can you imagine a drummer hauling out a set of broomsticks and drumming 6 feet away from his kit just because it looks cool. [/rant]

Easy for you to say, you've got a cool looking guitar ?

No. I think it may be more prevalent amongst guitar players but it's certainly not limited to them.

There are certainly sax players who like to have flash instruments. I remember seeing Richie Cole when he came out to SA in the early 90s - he had a black sax with gold fittings on it and was very keen that everybody noticed the thing.

You get some violin players (I think Eddie Jobson may have been or still is one) who like lurid looking instruments.

Drummers? Those multi-coloured perspex kits were popular at one time, and there were certainly drummers who I suspected of having a number of items in their kit that exceeded the number they were actually going to apply the sticks to.
