Pron.... GFSA style.

I know it's irrational, but I reckon we should have a thread where you can post links to guitars you want real bad, and guitars you think are just downright sexy. I'll [obviously] go first.... Its not aGibson or Epiphone but still looks good.

Horns alright man!!!

What an AUSUM looking axe ?

Renesongs

@ Singe that Bass is well wicked just need to rip the frets out and give it to Jack ?

Bob-Dubery

That bass looks to me like a problem waiting to happen. Look how close the strings are running to the posts of the tuners.

But it's porn. Doesn't have to deliver, just has to promise.

OK, time for the stupid question of the day; why would strings running close to the tuner posts be reason for concern?

Because the strings can start fouling on the windings around the posts. Take a good look at that headstock. Half a turn more on that 3rd string tuner and the winding could come into contact with the 4th string. Same with 3rd and 2nd.

singemonkey

Agreed. You'd have to be very careful. Do they make locking tuners for bass? That would eliminate the danger, I think.

I say slotted headstocks are the way to go on bass. Like some of the Gibson EB3s from the late '60s, early '70s.

Jack-Flash-Jr

Too woody gents, and that headstock just ain't right... but I appreciate the efoort on my behalf...

Malkav

Well here's some more guitar pron...

I think the guitar's as ugly as hell but I'm sure you can all understand why I think this image should be here ?

Hey look it's a Mayones

I don't know what that is ?

Hey look a Fernandes Vortex ?

Don't know what this one is either but hey it looks cool ?

Whatever it is has fanned frets and is therefore cool ?

It's a peavey with a flamed maple top yayness ?

Realistically I'm probably gonna get shat on by mods for this or have the post deleted, but it was worth it!

deefstes

This is a fascinating picture, it's like an optical illusion. If you stare at it long enough a guitar appears towards the left side of the image. It took me a few minutes of staring at the picture before I started noticing the guitar. It's ugly as hell though (I don't know who came up with that headstock).

The nice thing about seeing a Tele you like is that it wouldn't be hard at all to build one or get one built to the same specs. Although I do hear it's hard to get the right kind of ash in SA. A one piece ash body would be very sweet.

Don't quite see the point of a Tele without an ashtray bridge though. It wouldn't sound much like a Tele.
