Vox don't say much about that, but I guess it's their take on the Duncan P-Rails thing in a P90 form factor. The Virage has a similar thing, but with three rails.
Interestingly, you can see the poles and slugs look like they are embedded below the surface and are covered by a transparent layer on top of the pickup, Quite cool looking:
