Custom Tele: Part 3

As kaydub suggested here is pimp my tele'

I went all out on this one, but still have some other tele pimpin ideas.
still need to find a tele switch selecter knob(does anyone know of a shop that stocks them?)

I got 2 of these gold knobs with the pearl look(i know crappy pic):

Okay maby the gold was a little bit over the top, but wait there's more.........

Took out the single coil and added a dimarzio tone t with a coil tap switch on the volume knob, strangely enough i got the wiring schematics from the seymour duncan website :? just had to swop the two wires.

I made a clear perspex scratchplate, and printed out a pic of paganini to get a neo classocal look going with the gold knobs.

Anyone got any other ideas for pics i can print out?
I thinking on a chuck norris one perhaps ?, to give it some attitude ?
Or maby a bright blue and red concentric cirlce do go with the cream colour.

If i can print out a few pics, i can add a different pic every week.

If you have any suggestions, i would love to hear them.

Probably a dumb question but: Did you just slip a printout piece of paper under that scratch plate?

Wicked mods. I have what I think is exactly the same tele (Squier affinity series?) also in vintage white (plays beautifully). Have been considering slapping some sort of hot rails type pickup in there - how does it sound? Also, how easy is it to set up the coil tap?

I don't think the colours came out in the pics properly, but the brown feel on the pic really goes with the colour of the guitar, if it is actually black, i would def print it a brown/beige colour.

Yes its the squier affinity.
It not too hard you need need to follow the wiring diagram, i got one from the seymour duncan website,i used 500k pots instead of 250k pots:

Although the humbucker is not in phase with the neck single coil, so i just have to ingnore that one for know, but needs differrent wiring for it to work as humbucker and neck single coil.

The combinations i get:
Push pot down:
1.Bridge humbucker
2.Bridge humbucker + neck single coil
3.neck single coil.

Push pot up:
1.Bridge single coil
2.Bridge single coil + Neck single coil( :'( :'(awesome tone!!!!)
3.Neck single coil

So basically i can go from hard rock to country in a flick of a switch ?

If you can get your hands on 5way super switch, you can do the same,but without a coiltap switch:

thanks will try that, it will give a very old faded look.

Thinking putting in black graphtech saddles to go with the modern looking pickup.

Cool, thanks for the tech info. Just had a thought - might be nice to print out a life size circuit diagram of a tele (think you can get them as pdf from fender.com) and use that behind the scratch plate!

You can take the old scratch plate stick it with doublesided tape to the perspex and cut it out with a few holesaws and a bandsaw(or jigsaw if your up to it), or you can have it CNC.
If you make it yourself you can be assured that it will fit.

i prefer the one in your avatar. There is too much colour there, but not enough to make an impact.

but thats just my view. Its an awesome idea.
