Just read that Dan Patlansky will be hosting another Fender guitar weekend later this year. Again in Clarens and another one in Knysna. Check out his page www.danpatlansky.com

Judging from the previous weekend, I will most certainly not miss this next one. I learned a hell of a lot, and had great fun and Clarens is awesome. They said this one will be a bit more advanced though which is good. Let's see if we can get a few GFSA guys to go again. They only take 20 guys at a time
Would love to go! (But I dont want to feel totally out of my depth, either...) How much did it cost?

The last one was R1600 for the long weekend. I'm sure it will still be under R2000.
Awesome! I spoke to Dan when he did his short run at the Catalina and he mentioned he was doing another one. Definetly going!
            Ok, firstly:
I'm not up to standard for that level

            Secondly:
My dad is not going to drive all the way to Clarens to drop me off there

            Thirdly:
My dad is not going to fork out over R1000 for a weekend, and I haven't got that kind of money...

So, sorry, I'm kinda gonna have to pass... ☹ :'(
              where is clarens?
It is in the Free State, where it is so flat you can sit in your camp chair and watch your dog run away for 3 days ?

HAHAHA Clarens is quite the opposite! Lotsa mountains and fly fishing there. One of SA's unspoilt towns. Beautiful place

The town has a no franchise policy! No Steers, No Spar, No Pick and Pay... Lovely... Just little boutique stores everywhere ?
Ja, Clarens is quiet. but the drive through Golden Gate from Durbs is inspiring.

It's actually quite annoying because you can't find anything useful!  At the last fender weekend I left my towel at home, so me and my friends set out to the town(the backpackers was just outside Clarens) to find a towel.  Spent an hour driving around trying to find a towel.  Eventually we gave up and I had to drip dry every morning in freezing temperatures!  The whole of Clarens is made up of useless art gallerys and not so useless restaurants ?

                        Dude! !

i just asked them for towels. They gave me a whole bunch ?
Man, it was freezing. Drip dry. Tis madness!
                          a month later

Ha LOL. No dude, Clarens is in the middle of the Epic Maluti mountain kingdom on the border of lesotho. you wouldnt be able to see your dog for very long hehe.
was just there 2 weeks ago, very beautiful place, Cant wait for the Guitar weekend!!

Does anyone know when bookings open?

They opened a while back already.. When I spoke to Dan last he mentioned that there where already quite a few confirmed bookings already. That was about 3 weeks ago...
