I heard a great quote from a vocal coach about the importance of using the correct technique from the beginning, and I think it applies to guitar as well.
"Practise makes permanent, not perfect"

It unfortunately is the biggest BULL TWANG we get taught from a young age by parents, schools, fools and morons. They teach us that it makes perfect and its a load of hogwash!!! Practising right might be hard but it pays off and do you have any idea how difficult it is too unlearn bad technique once its permanent? eish
