Danelectro 67 Heaven as first guitar?

Hi, I've been meaning to get my first guitar for a while now and a Danelectro 67 Heaven caught my eye, I like it's design. Would you recommend it as a first guitar?

The music I want to make is quite distortion heavy(shoegaze/grunge), would this guitar be a good one for that kind of sound?

slothnumber66 Good choice, it's not the best with high gain metal sounds, but everything else from fuzzed rock to country, it'll sound good.

If you have to have the higher gain metal siounds, consider sometrhing with a humbucker.
