  • A Must see!! Slow dancing in a burning room - John Mayer

Hey guys

Here's a song that Neps covered at Jonathans on Wednesday. Did a good job too!

(Spyke, it's the one we talked about)

Damn.. didn't I have an awesome backing band at Johnathans.. ? And I amazingly look like John Mayer!

You're right, very close resemblance.. Specially when you walked in there with the Jennifer Aniston lookalike.. John must just brush up on his guitar playing, cause you totally kicked his @ss ?

Hell, one of the very few artists who sound great on studio recordings, and BETTER live!!!! :applause:

Here is my favourite John Mayer "live" song..... a Jimi Hendrix tribute... and wow.... fantastic version. Check out the STRAT he's playing!!!! Now, is'nt that a true Hendrix fan??

Neps, sorry, for the slight hijack, just could not resist, buy seeing as you're also a John Mayer fan (and lookalike, I believe), I did'nt think you'd mind!
This would be a bit difficult to add to your live repetoire. (hell, can't spell that word)

Aubs, try and post that link differently (using the "insert hyperlink" button on the toolbar). Doesnt seem to open the page correctly
Sorry about that, here goes! BTW this was the first Hendrix tune I could play. Note Hendrix did NOT play a solo in the middle like John does!

Yes. Same number of limbs. Same number of ears. Same number of noses.

              I could go on.

Ugh, that is one of the original Jimi Hendrix Protoype Strats. Makes you want to cry of envy. ☹ They are EXTEMELY rare, and only a handful are known to exist.

I love Slow Dancing In A Burning Room. Such a lovely song. Actually, I love John Mayer. One of my favourite artists.

                  Yep, can relate to that!.

The reason I posted that was, if you listen to the 2 tunes, one slow, bluesy, one hard rock, shows this little buggers talent!!!
Slow dancing ...... beautifully constructed, no, awesomely done, and then to a hard fast rock......what can one say? What I'd give to see John Mayer live!!!!

Went and searched for it after we spoke and stumbled upon this video. While the original song is great, this extended version just has so much soul to it. Love it!

                    and I wasn't a Mayer fan.
BTW, not to steal John Meyer's Thunder (or Neps for that matter... ?)

What guitar is Bobby McIntyre playing? It looks like a 335, but its not a Gibson.

I have the DVD at home and the emblem on the headstock is different.

I think you mean Robbie McIntosh? That would be a Duesenberg Carl Carlton. It is indeed a 335 meets a Gretsch inspired design.

Sorry my mistake. (Kind of like driving a Toyota Collora)

Thanks for the info anyway. Lekker guitar

Doesn't look like a 335 at all. More like a Gretsch, but the headstock logo isn't right for that either.

                            I suspect it's a Duesenberg. See http://www.duesenberg.de/

Yeah, Robbie McIntosh, and what amazing TONE!!!!

Think I should look into getting one of those.............hahahahaha..........just kidding!!!!
I bought one of these for my wife.

Hers is a little different in that the scratch plate is white and it is a solid turquoise in colour.

Nice guitar and tone is not that far different from Robbie"s on the video. Well priced too.
Yeah, they're quite cool. I played one a while ago, I think good value for money.

Dude you're so right, that's way better live, that's what I mean when I say "feel" the music. WHAT A LEGEND!

                                    P.S. That strat!!!!!! ☹
