Yes...if you use some Ukulele bass strings (D'addario make a set you can get locally for around R300)
I'm not convinced about the piezo pickups he used - but I do heartily approve of the overall junkie nature of his approach, two thumbs up from me! Thinking it through - I'd prefer something that already has a undersaddle pup installed.
But one major league plus for this, I reckon you could use a old classical that been really beat on, as with the fatter strings, you'll have more wiggle room (heh) with the nylon bass strings - so if the guitar has 'bellied' (bridge pulled up) you can still find a musical use for the instrument. Excellent!
