It's a AI timbre matching system - I'd say it's like those midi guitar DAW plug-in's that pitch match - except Google has 'machine learning' so (in theory) it'll improve it's output over time?
Interesting, because Google takes this stuff serious and their voice recognition is pretty darn good already.
