Ummm...not your usual guitar related video, but for some it'll be interesting and a few, even useful!

V8 changed the title to Tony Cox - Nailcare for the Lockeddown guitarist.

My nail care consists of "keep em short". When my finger nail begins to drag on my mousepad in annoys the daylights out of me.

warrenpridgeon I need some nail for the picking hand - not nearly as much as the majority of fingerstyle players. I used to keep 'em far too long - I only really need a sliver of nail 2mm max) on the thumb and index finger for what I hack away with.

A.t.m they're all short n trimmed - not needing any nasty's lurking trying escape the multitude of handwashes.

V8 when I use my fingers (as per the lockdown challenge one cos I was doing string skipped double stop things) I use the edges of my fingers and not my nails... maybe I should work on the nails?

Entirely a personal preference - to do my fakemenco sh1te on the nylon stringer I need a bit of nail on thumb and index (and the other fingers, but I'm super kak @ rasgueo) . I do like the sound of nail vs a plectrum - for me, it's just a extra tool rather than fingernails are better than a plectrum.

Oddly...I do use a bit of nail when fingerstyling bass - which isn't common. I'm pretty sh1te at picado (flamenco fingerstyle) on guitar, but on a bass, it seems to work for me.

So....I dunno -> explore, experiment and have fun I say 😆
