Well done again everyone. I'll reserve comment till after voting.

V8 I'd say this is your best work yet? The afrikaans vocal just works, great feel and the lyrics are poignant (in a good way ?). And the overall mix is just magic!

It does kinda feel that way ? Although I have done other songs that I really like, the recording quality was always pretty shocking. That does make them sound horrible imo. This song does need something though...a chello... or violin or someting 'orchestral'...

Stoffeltoo Waiting for the opportunity to get Majaelle and Wern101 in a duet....

Yikes. I'd be outclassed for sure.

Well done to all, 11 entries, I'm sure that's a record!

For me it ended up being pretty much a 3-way tie between @guidothepimmp , @ScottyDogg and @wern101. Really loved the music box theme on @ScottyDogg's song, and would've taken my vote if it had words I think. @wern101 as was really powerful piece of music and I really liked it. In the end @guidothepimmp ended up taking it for me because it felt slightly more anthemy (if that's a word).

I also like the feel of @V8's entry, but don't have the foggiest idea how I would go about making something in that style. If I ever get down to cape town again @V8, I'll have to meet you at the gear junkie and you will have to show me some stuff.

I was super impressed by the amount of effort everyone put in. I think these challenges have progressed passed the point were you can win with a quick sunday-night slap-together.

Thanks Klaasvakie

I was also torn between entries. For me, it was between RodneyVikens and Studmissile. In the end i opted for Rodney's alternative. Why? Because i had the riff and "this is the alternative" stuck in my head for days. ?
Studmissile consistently has great submissions.

My favourite tune was Scotty's. It is the style i gravitate to in my day to day listening and the production was excellent. Would have got my vote if it had lyrics.

I really enjoyed all the other entries too. Some great material by everyone, so well done to all.

V8's grooves and style always impresses me. Wish i had that sense of creativity.

Also a shout out to Stoffeltoo. I enjoyed contributing to the track.

On the whole, i agree with V8's comments on the tracks. Thanks for sharing y'all

Great entries all round, well done everyone. Another that I was very sorry to miss.
@guidothepimmp took my vote this time. Like Klaasvakie, I found it the most... ahem... anthemy.

Awesome entries. GuidothePimmp got mine as it really sounded the most Anthemy. Aaand we have another draw. Well done to the winners.

Thanks fellers and thanks to everyone.

Well done Rodney. Thats 2 in a row ? good stuff mate

I think what we could do is a 5 day vote and if it ends in a draw, we do a 2 day poll with the drawing parties as the only ones people can vote for (there were obviously votes for my track and others that could have been put to a tiebreaker) ?

You. Are. Kidding. A Draw again! ?

And there was a prize last month being carried over courtesy of Stud, Rodney and Stof - it must be cursed or something ?

ScottyDogg we do a 2 day poll with the drawing parties as the only ones people can vote for

Like it - a vote off the two winners - why didn't we do that last month, was the obvious solution? Anywhoo, we can this month!

ScottyDogg Sounds good ? Also, I'm itching to get going on the next song ?

I really should get my A into G sooner this time... lol

RodneyVikens Me! But As our sole capetonian you'll have to give me leeway, I'm on slaapstad time ?

Eeek, catching up on notifications - missed these the first time 'round!

klaasvakie . If I ever get down to cape town again @V8, I'll have to meet you at the gear junkie and you will have to show me some stuff.

You're welcome to visit anytime! Thanks for the comment - not sure what style I'd class my track as - rocking funk played by a ex-djentlepoop. ?.

Thanks! I've been getting back into guitaring this year - over many. many challenges there seems to be a V8 style of guitaring crystalizing - only taken about 25+yrs to get something that sounds a little like me and not regurgitated meanderings - my first guitar teacher might have been proud if I'd only taken 2-3yrs to get there! ?

Just came from Junkies. Awesome peeps and walked away with some gear and an approving nod from the missus
