  • Garage Days 8 - From Another Dimension

Morning garage day people,
Thanks to those who came out to the garage yesterday. It was a great afternoon.

I want to start setting up the next one a little earlier to give people some time to plan around it. Exact date to be confirmed but it is likely to be a Saturday in October (since September is already over then then it’s the end of the year). If you’re interested in coming drop your preferred dates into this thread.

So we’ve had the same track list for the last few sessions and while it's been fun, the general consensus was that we should mix it up a little. Here’s the list we’ve been working with. We’ll treat this as a starting point. If you happen to feel particularly strongly one way or another about any of these, let us know.

Ain't no Rest for the Wicked - Cage the Elephant

Plush - Stone Temple Pilot

Running Wild - Airbourne
Slow Cheetah - RHCP
Eyes of the Panther - Steel Panther
Hells Bells - ACDC
Highway to Hell - ACDC
Holiday - Green Day
Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Queen
Just Got Paid - ZZ Top/Joe Bonamassa
Down in a Hole (Unplugged) - Alice In Chains

More importantly though, bring us those suggestions!
Ideally songs should be relatively accessible (no dream theater) and fun to perform and it helps if someone who is coming already knows it. Beyond that anything goes.

    Thanks Yeti.
I will throw 'Welcome to the jungle' into the hat. Guns 'n roses.

So with the addition of new songs, we'll have to cut a few out.

Which songs are we definitely keeping?
IMO Crazy Little thing, Plush, Give me one reason and Slow Cheetah(I really want to properly prep for this one) should stay.

      As for song suggestions:
      Black - Pearl Jam
Africa - Toto (We've gotta live the meme).
      Karma Police/Creep - Radio Head.
      Last Nite - The Strokes.

And last but not least: https://www.latlmes.com/breaking/the-top-jam-sesh-song-form-the-90s-1

      So my thoughts...
I like most of the current lineup but these are the ones I personally enjoy the most:
      Plush - Stone Temple Pilot
 (I looove singing this song)
Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Queen
Give Me One Reason - Tracy Chapman (seems this missed the list)
Just Got Paid - ZZ Top/Joe Bonamassa

I'd also like to bring back a few songs from previous sessions:
Whiskey In The Jar - Metallica version
Sweet Child of Mine - Guns N Roses (would just need someone to learn the lead though)
House of the Rising Sun - Animals (let's go with that)... the idea here would be a another 'jam' song
      Zombie - Cranberries

RCVN Neither are my forte... suggest away!

klaasvakie I like the idea of adding Zombie, but I pity the poor vocalist ?

          I'm hoping @Mijaelle will join us. ?

Heya, had a run through the song list, some of my favorites in there, would be cool to do a duet for 'ain't no rest for the wicked '. My suggestion is LP - When We're High have a fab Friday all

Morning all, let's talk dates shall we?
My next couple of months are madness. September is spoken for and the only Saturday I have in October is the 12th, although the first few in November are still free. As always though, if other dates suit the group better then we will go with those.

              How are other people looking?

Just bumping because with the forum trouble my previous post doesn't seem to have updated the thread.

Im looking ok. No more birthdays.. or weddings.. or blimmin 21sts on the horizon.. finally!

My next family xommitment is Christmas. Bring on garage days

I'm fairly available until mid-October and then everything goes downhill from there ?

Cool, so let's set it for 12 October.

I'll take a look at the set list in the next couple of days, so if anyone has more suggestions, get them in.

                    Yeti Sounds good.

So what will we be doing about that song list?
Need some time to get some of those tracks down =P

                    • Yeti replied to this.

RCVN I want to give another day or so to see if we get any other suggestions, then will confirm the list. Things are a little crazy this side at the moment. Any chance you (or anyone else for that matter) could help with putting together chord sheets for the new songs?
