I've got the guitar pretty much sorted, struggling to get lyrics and melody to fit. If it goes pear-shaped I might just submit as an instrumental.

From my research thus far:
"If I flick on my lighter, it's an Anthem."
"When perfect strangers start hugging each other."
"A rock anthem is a powerful, celebratory rock song with arena-rock sound often with lyrics celebrating rock music itself and simple sing-a-long choruses, chants, or hooks. These Rock Anthems were chosen for their popularity as a rock anthem, music, lyrics, and originality."
"when a song demands more air guitar"

Some apparent examples:
"Anthem" - Wayne Newton
"Born in the U.S.A." - Bruce Springsteen
"Dancing in the Street" - Martha & The Vandellas
"God Bless America" - Connie Francis
"Gonna Fly Now (Theme from 'Rocky')" - Bill Conti & His Orchestra
"Hands Across America" - The Voices of America
"Heal the World" - Michael Jackson
"I Have a Dream" - Rev. Martin Luther King
"I'm Coming Out" - Diana Ross
"Put Another Log On the Fire (Male Chauvinist National Anthem)" - Tompall
"Rock and Roll All Nite (Live)" - Kiss
"Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves" - Eurythmics & Aretha Franklin
"The Star Spangled Banner (live)" - Whitney Houston
"The Star-Spangled Banner" - Jose Feliciano
"The Star Spangled Banner" - Faith Hill
"United We Stand" - The Brotherhood of Man
"We Are Family" - Sister Sledge
"We're Not Gonna Take It" - Twisted Sister
"We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions" - Queen

Wow.... Seems like everyone has at least something. Maybe I can get into it a bit later today.

RodneyVikens I always have a groove and occasionally a riff...but a whole song? Don't let me mislead you...?

I'm still trying to find some inspiration from other anthem songs.

warrenpridgeon I'm still trying to find some inspiration from other anthem songs.

I just found a B section to the A - all thanks to a teeny sized Jazz III - they're not entirely useless it seems ?

All I need is a C (middle 8/bridge) section and a lot of energy - I get far too involved in tweaking & fiddling with things.

Oh, I guess some lyrics too. And A singer. And a drummer with some fresh beats...Oh dear ?

V8 Lol! I've got a chorus which I think sound sick....no, like I might have flu. This will be the first song I have ever recorded with voice.

Grin - I think most of the fun is coming up with something, recording it is usually not fun for me, it's a four letter word... 'work' .

Though I'm no help with vox but I'll offer my usual encouragement, we're usually our own worst critic. I'll hide behind fx, though I'll draw the line at auto-tune. (Admittedly, I have tried it, but I hate it).

Are we allowed to let someone mix/master the final track?

RodneyVikens Yeah, for sure - more the merrier! Though your last entry (with no mastering?) was pretty balanced. ?:

P.s. Thanks may be in order,I got inspired last nite, Now have C & D sections. All in a ll a noisey mess!

V8 How many sections do I need? Modern music is only A & B, repeat half of A, repeat half of B. Then ABBBBBBBBB

          It is...!

Though, the last band I was in, was a progressive djent experiment. We used most of the alphabet for song structures. ?

          Progressive Djent checklist:
          Gratuitous key changes. Check.
          Needless rhythmic changes. Double Check.
Three or more genre's in one song, Everytime!
