Hey Jude (The Beatles, cover by Scary Pockets ft. Kenton Chen)

I really dig the original tune, has the best 'chorus' ever. I admire the way these muso's combine in this take. The drummer especially amuses me with his attempts at restraint...?

Light my Fire (The doors, cover by Shirley Bassey - remixed by The Reflex)

Unintentionally, the second Doors song - this is the most recent cover/remix I've really liked. Feels epic like a Bond tune but yet familiar like a classic tune is and tastefully remixed - I'm a fan.

Submitting a whole album here, but Norah's harmonies and the more polished guitar work makes me enjoy these more than the originals:

klaasvakie I always think of this as an SRV song.

Heresy!!! ?

I couldn't really think of a SRV/Jimi cover I liked more than the original (All along the watchtower aside - that's a definite upgrade by Jimi). The closest one was Jimi's Killing Floor (apparently Led Zep's The Lemon Song, though I don't really hear the resemblance).

warrenpridgeon Gob - Paint it black

So far, my favourite. I had hopes for the five finger death punch version of "House of the Rising Sun" but...ermm, no. Godsmack's Come Together was real good, but not quite beating the original for me. Guano Ape's Big in Japan, was a near hit, great energy in the track - though the vocal phrasing was a tad odd for me.

How I forgot this one is a mystery...were I not loving on Shirley Bassey atm, this would have been #3.
