Hello there.
I'm very new, as I didn't know about this forum tbh. If I had known better I would've joined earlier ?

I play bass - still have a long way to go, but I love it!
I'm from Stellenbosch, studying B.Acc Honours at the moment (to fund GAS purchases when I start working ? ).
I love all things bass, and love listening to reviews about basses and gear.

I started playing in 2013 when the church asked for volunteers - at that stage I knew sweet blue boggerol of anything about instruments.
My buddy borrowed me his Cort Artisan A4 as he started playing electric guitar, and I bought it from him in 2016 or '17. Still playing on it, although I'm eyeing to buy one of those Sire P7 basses on Thomann (really look up to Marcus Miller).

Love my rig. Looking at selling the Strymon and Boss pedals and getting the Walrus Audio Slö Reverb and EHX Canyon Delay/Looper pedals (I have close friends who travel to the States quite often, hence the reason for all the pedal-movement) to grow my skill and love of music, not just to satisfy the GAS ?

Stoked to be on this forum and learning and reading what everyone is up to ?

All those pedals but only one bass? ?

I had a Artisan A5 (5 stringer), great bass for the money, but my love is a old grungy hofner p-bass copy. All them pedals make me guess you head towards the heavier, progressive side of things? Though the flat's do make me wonder!

I actually like the sound of flatwounds on a P-bass more, like motown, but I also love the sound of bass in rock (not too heavy though).
But then again, anything goes as my friends like heavier rock - so jack of all trades master of none at the moment!
Would love to really learn the deeper theory of each genre though, like Pino Palladino - he's brilliant all-round.

I actually bought the Alpha Omega because of its beautiful clean tone (my first pedal ever) - the distortion is a big bonus, and the Sansamp really adds something incredible to it when you stack some drive over the distortion, but it's like a 3 way effects switch (SVT drive; slap; all the highs removed) and serves as my DI.

Looking to get a p-bass soon though! Gonna sell the A4 if need be, but it actually sounds sick with the flatwounds as well!

Common issue - just in case - attachments need to be < 1mb in size (resolution doesn't matter, just file size)
