All anybody know if Laney is still Manufacturing the Cub12R.

I'm not 100% sure - but you can still get em new - so I'd guess so? I quite liked the head + cab version over the combo. Bothners are the local outlet to check for stock (they are the local importers of laney)

I asked the question as I contacted MD - Musical Distributors which I assume is Bothners as the HQ is the same address. First reply I got sorry the Cub12R has been discontinued. I then checked Laney.co.uk and it was still listed as a product. So I emailed MD/Bothners suddenly the story changed from no they aren't discontinued but we have brought in any Cub12R in while.

This kind of thing is reason I hate dealing with local retailers, just be up front. Had they told me truth from the start I would probably have place one on order as I am not in a particular rush.

Guess an international retailer will do.

Agree - they're not doing themselves any favours. That and the silly markup I object too.

Have you tried the VC series Laney amps? I saw a VC15 for R1500 on gumtree not too long ago and have tried the VC30 (It was reallly good - I'd have one over the Cub12R)combo).

If you arn't in a rush and don't mind 2nd hand - keep a eye on gumtree and the facebook sale groups (SA Music Instrument Store and Revolution).
