Guitar pickup wire suppliers in SA

Good day to everyone here

Been a lurker for, oh too many years to count, and this is the first post I've made. I have some old pickups I have pulled over the years that either sound crappy, are dead, or buzz like a insect nest. I have the urge to rewind them from scratch, as I have a few project guitars I would like to put them in, and I'd rather rebuild a handful of them myself for the price of a single premium pickup. Plus the added satisfaction that yet another part of the guitar was built by myself.

Years ago I found a local supplier of the correct size magnet wire in SA, think they were called WST, but recent searches cannot find them. Anyone know of a local producer or supplier of the correct size stuff? I do not care if it is poly, enamel, formvar, etc, as long as it is around 42 or 43 AWG in size, and is obviously insulated by some form of coating. I'm not really a fan of the idea of placing an order with Remington Industries and wait a month for the wire to arrive, and pay more than the cost of the wire in shipping...

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Eesh wire locally
42AWG or 0.0635mm going to be a tough one to crack locally
Rsonline has only up till 0.1mm or 38 AWG
you might have luck trying local re-winders. companies

You seem to be that guy ? - weren't you building a winder or something along that lines?

Thanks guys. I sent off an email to Graeme Hayward and he said he imports all his pickup wire since there are no more local distributors. Guess I'll have to place an order with Remington Industries then. Make it worth my while and import alot of it for plenty of future projects.

I would try a local armature winder- I got some 43AWG somewhere in Selby a few years ago- the most confusing part of the transaction was trying to figure out how they would only sell me one roll of wire- they were more set up to do industrial quantities for transformers and motors
