The selection you'll see below represents a compelling cross-section of the industry, offering a collection of instruments that range from flawlessly-executed high-end investments to modern classics and affordable off-the-shelf mass production models that punch way about their weight.

Thank you! Such a great article. I nearly fell of my chair looking at some of those prices, but I must admit that Fender CD-60S has caught my eye.

I am surprised not to see any Takamine or Tokai guitars in the list. I would have thought those would feature for sure, even above the Yamaha's....

Maybe the yanks look at it differently...

Yawn, too many Dreaded naughts. But, the prices of the top instruments do impress. I have had a lus for a Yamaha silent nylon since I first saw them, but it is unlikely that I ever try or buy one. Somewhat out of my price range as well, even if cheap compared to some of the others.

Also surprised with no Takamine's and only a couple boutique builders, definitely a yank list. Laughable at what is 'affordable' in the higher end of the acoustic range ?

I know little about steel stung acoustics, but the Taylor Mini is a fun thing - that Art & Lutherie parlour blues box looks similarly fun as well.

..though I reckon this list was composed by visiting one guitar store ?

I have played a few, never liked 'em. There's one at Gear Junkie, I'm trying to like it - but failing so far. Reckon a Godin Multiac Nylon would be a better bet than the yamaha silent guitar. Or install a set of graphtech ghosts on your strat and string it up like a nylon ?
