  • Mabu Vinyl SA flavoured (and more) mixes on Mixcloud

One of the world's best record stores, Mabu Vinyl has a really nice selection of mixes on Mixcloud. Lots of classic rock and other good stuf!

Some local mixes, lots of interesting things from the 60's and 70's

And if international is more your scene (classic rock, pop, african inspired) and all sorts of other flavours - they also share some pretty epic mixes!

Thanks for these - awesome listening.

klaasvakie Glad someone else enjoyed these - I've been spinning these all week. "African Daze 2" kicks off with a 2001 Space Oddessey cover that I can't get enough off! Dunno who "McCully Workshop" were, but they could grrrrrooooooove ?

For a while there was an online SA music store at rhythmrecords.co.za where you could get MP3s of almost any SA band at around R70 per album. I bought a couple there, one of them was a Best of MCully workshop. I did some digging at the time and found this really cool "family tree" which is almost like a who's who of early south african rock.

Other SA bands that I got from rhythmrecords that I enjoyed

The 13th Floor (A good SA hardrock band from PE) -

Tone Deaf Junkies (Spotify only has one song) -

Bluescream (which also has some MCully in it) - http://www.rock.co.za/bluescream/index.html
