In 2011, I put out my first album, Guitar Nerd. It was an all-instrumental rock-guitar affair, and it was a ton of work, since I wrote, produced, programmed, and mixed most of it. It was also an incredibly powerful and liberating experience to make and release that album. I’d always been a sideman, and suddenly, I was the artist. I made exactly the album I wanted to make.
