My first one, received as a gift somewhere late 1970's.

My wife inherited this Super Chromonica a few years ago, I recently stripped it, serviced, assembled back in a "correct" sequence, I hope, but it needs a techie to work on it - some of the "non-return" valve plastic stickers have gone. Difficult to play, at some point up the scale it becomes hard to blow a sound - it becomes "tight". Might make the effort if I can get it repaired. Probably better to just get another. It was a mess, and was assembled "left-handed" with the slide plates all mixed up.

My father had a real nice one, bigger than this, in a soft-lined hard "walnut burr" type case, which he played sometimes when I was kid. He never played much, I guess no motivation. We should have jammed when I got to play guitar. It is in almost perfect condition, but has a bent reed here and there. I passed it on to my niece, she is into music somewhat, and I cannot see myself ever mastering that knob-thingie on the side.
As for playing, I would love to be able to do so. But then, I would love to get back into trumpet as well... Only so much time and energy, must prioritise.
