@klaasvakie I've opened this topic so we don't derail your Yousician review ?

I've fixed the replying issue for the "Editor's Picks" tag. Please let me know if you get any other issues.

Thanks again for the heads-ups!

    @NorioDS Hey Norio, I just made a post in my November Rain thread, but I got an error when I clicked "Post Reply". I can see my post when I check out that thread, but it hasn't bumped the thread to the top or marked my reply on the main page.

    This is the content when I use the "Debug" button:

    POST https://community.guitartalk.co.za/api/posts

    {
      "errors": [
        {
          "code": 500,
          "title": "Internal server error",
          "detail": "Swift_TransportException: Expected response code 250 but got code \"\", with message \"\"

      Thanks bud! Ja this is an issue with how the forum software handles emails. It makes the forum slower and, if there's any error, it makes it look like the reply failed. I find that a hard-refresh on the page will show the reply.

      Sadly this isn't likely to be fixed until the forum software (Flarum) adds support for mail queues.

      PS: I've deleted the error report as it reveals some inner workings of the forum. (Bad for security.)

      @klaasvakie I found a better way to handle the emails. (HTTP API instead of SMTP.) So this issue might go away for you. Let me know how it goes.

      @V8 sorry bud, you got the honour of being "test message receiver". Please ignore ?

      klaasvakie Thanks bud, I appreciate the appreciation ?

      Luckily (but unfortunately) the forum is still quiet. Once it gets busy again, then I'll really kak ?

        NorioDS Let me know how it goes.

        I didn't see the issue when I posted this morning, so maybe it was only a temporary glitch

        klaasvakie It's definitely an on-and-off issue. I had it a few times in the early days of the new forum but then it went away.

        Either way, the email notifications of this software isn't great. When you post a reply, it tries to email everyone "following" the thread. It really takes too long. It should be in a queue somewhere for later processing. But it's great software, otherwise, so I'll either fix that issue myself or wait for them to fix it.

          NorioDS @V8 sorry bud, you got the honour of being "test message receiver". Please ignore

          LOL, it's all good!
