The Not in This Lifetime... Tour is an ongoing concert tour by hard rock band Guns N' Roses. It features classic lineup members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, marking the first time since the Use Your Illusion Tour in 1993 that the three performed together.

nah... NOT going. Had a chance to go when they were 'new'. didn't go then either.
one of a group of bands that leave me COLD. top of this group is U2.
I have been listening to and playing acoustic guitar for 48 years now. I much prefer 'intelligent' guitar music like Leo Kottke, Leon Redbone.
Don't get me wrong... I love Joe Satriani, Frank Zappa, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page & SRV, but there was this whole group of bands that arose out of nowhere in the early 80's that 1: all sound the same and 2: are just loud for loud's sake. (not nearly enough lyrical musicality). And before you all begin with the shitstorm... this is just my personal opinion. I am by no means a learned scholar... by now, I just know what I like. ;=)
QUESTION: Will Axl fit on the stage?

Pierre-Cronje BWAHAHA....read my mind ?
I'm not a GnR fan nor a Slash fan...but Appetite for Destruction does still get a lot of love in my playlist. My brother had the vinyl, while I didn't get into much at first - mannny years later I started to appreciate how kick-ass a stadium rock album it is.
Just don't get me started on ticket prices. That'll be a rant.
so what did you guys think of the show last night, any feedback, ratings, comments? us peeps in Cpt would like to know ?
@nick_D01 honest opinion... apart from the music which was obviously good, the show was a bit lack-lustre. For the price of the tickets you'd expect a big show to be put on (ala Metallica, or Rammstein) but instead they just played and walked around the stage with no real effort to entertain like most other big bands... Not to take away from Slash's skill, but it feels like they're riding the "Slash" wave a bit and relying on him to "entertain" if that makes sense at all? That's just my 2c's, anyone is welcome to disagree...
mxninja Actually I'd agree with that. Really wasn't "there" when compared to Metallica. And yes, definitely a lot of riding the "Slash wave". Well put.
That said, I went for Slash so I really enjoyed it. Would have preferred Myles Kennedy on vox. No offence to Axl but his voice just isn't there anymore. And while Myles' voice is a lot more nasal, it's still pretty epic and suits the GnR songs quite nicely.
I really, really enjoyed it but, for me, I'd much rather go to a Kings of Chaos concert.
My Highlights:
- Black Hole Sun cover
- Velvet Revolver — Slither cover
- Slash weedling away even after losing the high-E string
- Slash weedling away all the rest of the time too ?
- Civil War
- November Rain
- Slash's rendition of Amazing Grace
Looks like a long list but, actually, it was a long show. So this is a short list ?
There's a bunch of videos being shared on WhatsApp. We'll try get them on here ?

I agree there was definitely some of this going on. As a guitar player I feel like I got great value for money since the guitar work was put on so much of a pedestal. If you are more of a GnR fan than a Slash fan, then maybe I can see how you would feel a bit disappointed.
That said, while they didn't have any fancy pyrotechnics (Rammstein, Metallica) or props (Iron Maiden), I think they made up by playing a longer set including some interesting covers which I personally appreciated more than I think I would've appreciated some fancier stage work.

The long set was definitely awesome. And the covers left me drooling. Very refreshing. Kept me guessing and in the best way possible.

Very very true. I went for Slash and got soooo much Slash. He was epic! ?
I enjoyed the way the wove the songs together... I.e. it wasn't like silence..."tick tick tick tick' ... next song.
I must get some of the footage I took up on YouTube.
Slash must have had about 50 guitars there... lol. He changed guitars as often as Axl changed outfits. lol
