Geek Fest 2018 — Cool Band Mugs and Shirts

So we went to Geek Fest on Saturday. We last went to the 2016 one in the big, open veld. Both were very good with some awesome mugs and T-shirts for the axemen here.

Here's the mug I got this year:

And the ones I got 2 years ago:

There were some nice Metallica T-shirts but not in my size. They had other great bands as well. Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and a slew of others. Some of it very tasteful and most of it really good quality shirts + prints.

And if you're into other geeky stuff, well of course there was a ton of that! Here's some of what I got:

hey Norio. its my first time reading/hearing about the festival in your post. but by all accounts it seems like quite a rad one :-) . the 'swag' you er, bagged is really cool too :-) , those mugs

nick_D01 Yeah unfortunately these fests can easily sneak by under the radar. We found out about it by accident in 2016.

It was very lekker. The sponsors were loud and annoying this year but that was just a few hours in the morning.

IMO, if you go for the swag, it will be worth it! The entertainment (bot wars, knight duels, etc) are not my thing ? But the other geeks seemed to enjoy that.

Oh and the mugs are awesome. Sandblasted. So the white you see there is actually the ceramic.

The first 2 I got still look almost brand new (apart from the Metallica one having a chip from the dishwasher, I think).

Having said that, they're dishwasher safe. You just have to pack your dishwasher better than we do ?

I'm going to try get the exact same type of mugs made with our "ribcage" T-shirt design on it. That will be killer!
