Honestly they all look a bit derivative to me...even this one. Local luthier Murray Kuhn does a far better take on avant garde things imho.

My sentiments exactly. Yuck! The only one's that I can say are decent are the ones in the pic above.

I like most of the finishes/textures but a lot of shapes are a bit too different and weird.

I mean, if this was in a traditional shape... Who wouldn't want a guitar that looks like molten rock?!

I think you nailed it, there were some offset shapes that didn't offend. But (for me) the vast majority just look like a slight variation on something I've seen before (All the headless ones look like strandberg's to me) or are just plain eye-hurters.

Nah. I think it's a little too much. I'm one for 'toned down' (no pun intended) art, colour and finishes. That's too bling for me.

wern101 Hahaha, I gotcha - I'm '76'er. But my folks were fairly cool, dad dug Metallica and ACDC and mom bought me Slayer T-shirts (then noticed the pentagram and made me take it back ?)

I grew up in a small Dorppie.. in the middle of no-where.. with no music outlets.. it was either whatever was on the radio... or the sounds of silence.. and my dads vinyl collection is more Bach than Beetles.

As mine was, no black sabbath or led zep - but he was cool enough to let my brother spin AC/DC and Iron Maiden - he honestly enjoyed it, so much so he dragged us to the Iron Maiden concert years later!

The Slayer/Carcass that I was into didn't get much family play time though ?
