Is there Something you seen that's well for lack of a better word... cute?
something you wouldn't mind owning just for the shits and giggles, if so tell us about it
For me well I've come across this little Jem
The Jam Jar Amp.

That's a fun enclosure! The circuit looks like the Ruby amp- http://www.runoffgroove.com/ruby.html - a simle, good sounding circuit that's been bui9lt into all sorts of weird enclosures:

I've always thought a blik kitaar would be cool to have- I know there are good, playable versions with bolt-on necks but a simple one would be cool, too: https://makezine.com/2006/06/30/homemade-oil-can-guitar/
Ooh thanks for those Links... Might be a December holiday project..
something to drive the Misses mad..(I've been looking for something just like that,,)
and the Blik Kitaar looks Fairly simple to make.
The junkie did a 2w transistor build in a can (aka the ampcan) but then a Pignose amp came in and we gave up on the ampcan in a flurry of ZZ Top riffage. Wizard did try a mini amp transistor build, but it's too much like hard work ?
I've had some novelty musical bits (jaw harps, percussion bits, obscure pedals), though one thing that I wasn't sure would work was the yamaha guitaele - but it does! :
V8
It didn't even occur to me that the guitalele was novelty gear- mine has been a pretty useful instrument, for travelling and casually playing around the house.
on the low frequency side, I wouldn't mind messing around with a Bogdon Bass: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogdon_Box_Bass
I was thinking of a true Bass Ukulele for those time i travel away and need something more portable
Tuckstir Thomann have a cheapie that has good reviews- https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_kahuna_clu_bass_ukulele_fl.htm

Though the reviews were good, I was still surprised at how playable it was and the build quality was even more impressive - I did get to choose the pearler from 5 though, they weren't all quite as sweet.
peterleroux Now we're talking! Sounds a bit like the Kala U bass at 1/4 of the price? I did see a kala U bass at Cash Crusaders...R4500, not a bad price but not tempting enough ?
V8 The one meaningful difference in spec between the Ubass and the Harley Benton is size- the HB is a much bigger body so not quite as portable as the Ubass. But when I'm next in the market to buy something, this bass might be it (EDIT: or the new Cort Baritone, or a Bass VI, or...)
so as a Much Delayed Birthday gift I got this
Must be great for practising left hand technique. Pity there's no way to hear it though for the sake of clean technique
