Hot Rod noise on overdrive channel

I have a loudish buzz when switching to overdrive and boost channel. Its quite loud and Im not sure if its mormal. Very distracting on stage! Any other hot rod owners? Is it normal?

Difficult to say... thats a lot of gain, does the buzz diminish as you dial the gain back?

Also, presumably you have a guitar plugged in, is it properly grounded? Or does the buzz diminish when you touch the strings?

It could be normal if the buzz is less at lower gain.

To me it sounds like a strat (single coils) with loads of drive/gain.

Thanks for reply. My strat is plugged in. Noise stays when I touch the strings, so grounding seems fine. I have tried other guitars and the noise stays. Only makes noise when a guitar is plugged in. The noise decreases a bit as I dial down drive. But as soon as drive reaches level 1, noise is very loud. Volume barely touches 2. I cant take it up because the noise gets too loud. So, basically even on very low gain (1) the noise is very loud.
