Cheap bass (and guitar) strings...

I've posted briefly about it before - but in case it slipped past ya... I was at bothners (Claremont, WC) checking out some spares for my V-drums and thought I'd have a dig through their 'old' strings. Basically N.O.S stuff that's been hanging around forever - guitar and bass strings mostly. Odd gauges, brands with some 'normal' stuff in there too. Not sure if other Bothners have a stash like Claremont - that store has been around sooo long. Got me a set of GHS Flea signature bass strings (they sound great on the hofner pbass) and a set of Dáddario Prosteel 5 string's (fresh strings for when we start tracking the album) for R500 total. The cheapest new stock Dáddario's were around R450...!

At music connection in joburg the other day when they were having their clearance sale they were selling individual strings. It was the weirdest thing. Pretty cheap but a lot of effort to find a set of the right gauges.
