Welcome to the nuthouse! Enjoy your stay here and don't feed the locals... they can be cheeky ?
I also went from a digital MFX to single stomps and tube amp... I've since gone back to digital MFX in the form of a Line 6 POD HD500x... Works better for my scenario of playing.

Are you on the Think Bike forum? Same name, same welcome we give the new guys there... ? (edit: I saw your post in the hobbies thread... Whatsup? Didn't know you like music as well)
Also, I couldn't find the monthly challenge for Jan17...

Thanks. It's small and pale in comparison to guys I've played with, but I like it. Care to point me to the correct thread you had in mind? Or are you referring to the forum in general?

Bah, guitarists are overrated... :?
Although...the band have noticed that I'm better guitar player than bassist. Which makes me both the worst bassist and worst guitarist in the band :roflmao:
Yeah, I'm a better bassist than I am guitarist, and I honestly feel I often suck at both. At least I know what and where an octave is...

Golly - A 5 string headless, in a metallic blue V config - never seen that before!
Had me a Hohner Jack for the longest time - and I found myself in a similar place, wanted to replace pickups and I was running out of my stash of headless strings, so she got sold.
I did explore a lot of options before I sold her - Status (uk) had a great selection of headless strings, alternatively there are string adaptors on ebay which would let you use normal strings and I found a couple guys who could rewind the pups - the stock humbuckers were a bit bland.
Kinda miss that bass - was a epic player.
Here's some info on that bass:
http://www.steinberger.com/XT25.html, though I think this is the newer model than what I have. And I received this bass as a gift from an American when I was there back in 2006. But the reason I think the pickups needs attention is that the low B strings notes up to the "F#" (7th fret) gets really muddy... but that could also be as a result of old strings... I can't afford new headless strings, so if you could point me in the string adaptor thingys that you saw I would be most grateful... (now where's that Bow Down emoji?)
