But they did have some 3 Pack and single string specials (Rotosound & Ernie Ball) that are worth mentioning. Ernie Ball's from around R85/pack and a set of Ernie Ball bass strings (4 string, 105-50) @ R370.

They did get this one wrong though : https://www.bothnermusic.co.za/en/electric-bass-guitar-strings-ernie-ball-super-slinky-bass-strings - unless it's a 3pack offer that isn't noted on the ad (likely?)
I wonder what the Ernie ball coated strings are like... The rotosound 10's are sold out. Do they ship?
I need to put new strings on...I have Elixirs on and the last time I bought they were R160 a pack (I bought like 3)... Now they are R300+!

    Fairly sure they do ship.

Never tried the coated Ernies - got a set of the costed D'addario's EXP's on the pimopcaster at the moment - think they were R180 at Mars. I'm over Elixir's, a bit pricey now in SA (direct imports still reasonable though) - but they feel a bit stiff and sound a touch brittle to me. Each to his own though!
Popped into Bothners on Sat - Thought I'd update this thread.

Ok, not quite a TOMS sale, but if you pop in and negotiate hard on guitar/bass stuff, you'll get a good deal.

I didn't buy anything (yet), but was sorely tempted by a few things. Also, if you are looking for strings, depending on the branch, ask to dig through their old stock - I found some very interesting strings lurking in the old stock at appropriately old prices!

Which I played this weekend and noticed all the treble strings were crusty and tarnished after about two weeks on the guitar (and about 3hrs play time). On standard strings I'd expect this level of unplayability after about 3-6mths. I've had elixir's at 18mths that felt brand new (sounded dead though). Not impressed at all, so unimpressed, I'm complaining about it :?
