Welcome to the 1st GFSA "Open Mic Night"! T'was a mini challenge this month, a whole minute of your mic'ed goodness, be it cellphone, laptop or actual mic - we wanted to hear you live! I really liked this idea - if people think it's worth doing again sometime? (Not too soon, but next year?) Let's have two groups this month : Pool A : Stoffeltoo, Wern101 and Peterleroux Pool B : Studmissile and Meron Rigas You've got two votes to cast before voting closes on September 30, 2016, 09:24am. Thinking.... Will let you guys know shortly

After some thought (in my case dangerous)
The challenge:
Do a piece reflecting the style of the guitarist or band which had the greatest influence on your playing style.
Multi tracking allowed but limited to four trax in the mix and two minutes long.
Original submissions and lyrics are allowed.
My suggestion and good luck.

sjoe...I would not be able to imitate those artists. It be WAY too difficult.

However, i think it's doable in the 'style' of what they did.

Sound like a challenge and a half!! Hope to be able to do it.

that's my feeling as well. also, to choose just one from the many? unfathomable... but i think this one i'm going to give a bash. last time i entered a challenge was 'woodstock,' about 713 years ago...

gonna have to dust off reaper - untouched for 18 months at least. does percussive maintenance work on a daw?

You guys are REALLY upping the game in terms of the entries!

I've come into some free time in the evenings now... so chances are looking better for entering the next challenge!!!
I did a quick song for my fifth wedding anniversary this past saturday. Apparently 5th wedding anniversary is the "wooden" one so a guitar was perfect. lol.

I guess I could enter that in the next one if the them sticks... hehe...

Stoffeltoo

Go for it Warren. Your song will prolly have the term "Blue" in it somewhere.... like your bike ?

Since you both are up for it, we'll go with it. Will have the blurb posted tomorrow - we'll have the deadline for the 10th Nov.

It's open to genre's, which is good! Though not all of us will know the artist you may choose, which could also be good, as it will expose the listener to something new... ???
