Coolcat, the gist was to changes the nut and saddle (if it's not bone/tusq)?
I had a three (nylon) acoustics setup with bone nuts and saddles - not sure it was worth the effort on two of them, one did benefit though. The guitars without much tone didn't change much, the one with a bit of tone, "improved" - sustain and decay increased a bit.
Probably the same for steel stringers - some guitars are worth the effort , others not.
