Hi guys.

Just came back from a auction of some amps and antiques. I was able to get the amp and cabinet for what I believe to be a very good price.

It is a Yamaha PE200A head, with a TS-100 cabinet. I cannot find any info on these on the net. All I know it is solid state, and from the 70's.

Anyone had any experience with these amps, what are they good for, and a posssible resale value?

Here is some images of it. I will be picking it up later today and then I will test all the channels and hear how it plays.

Well I have had some time to spend testing the unit on the weekend. Everything works 100%. Tremelo, wah blend ect.

The amp has huge output. It is the loudest amp I have heard. But even at full volume it has zero distortion. It is by far the cleanest amp I have come across. This is a perfect pedal amp.

What I also found was an article on Dave Gillmore (Pink Floyd), he used this head on tour in the 70's. Can't be to bad then.

I am still trying to figure out a reasonable selling price, I would like to sell it again. Any suggestions would be nice.

Need to get more patch cables to hear how it sounds with my distortion pedal. Will probably get them tonight.

I saw same head, with a different yamaha cab going for R1500 and it wasn't selling - but it was in P.E and shipping was $$$. From the pics it looked in good condition (as yours does), I'd guesstimate in the R1.5k-2.5k range as a package - might be a slow sale though.

For comparison I saw a mint dynacord valve pa (similar vintage w/2x dynacord cabs) going for 4k - killer vocal pa!
