I bought a digitech distortion factory pedal and let my ears decide for me what I like. Turns out I stumbled on a classic tone? Ended up with the Proco Rat model and am asking myself - how much different does the real thing sound if the digital model sound so awesome! Ran it into the Fender Supersonic channel. Set clean, Bassman mode.

What are the main uses for this pedal? I used the "copy" to get a just under metal rythmn tone.

Any comments?
Kurt Cobain used to get his driven tone through a Rat, maybe that's what you hear.

I'm sure he used a DS1 for Nevermind and a DS2 for everything from In Utero onwards.

The rat is a great pedal though, and can serve as a hard rock/metal/grunge rhythm and can do cutting leads well.

Catalinbread combined the rat with a fuzz and it sounds incredible.

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't sure what the tone was I'm hearing, but I liked it!

I LOVE my ProCo RAT !

Deff one of my few go-to 'OD-come-Dist' pedals.

How much the Digitech differs from the real deal ? . . . no idea !
