I would please appreciate it if someone could help me.
I am looking for a good reliable experienced guitar teacher. I’ve been playing for 2 years or so. I did have lessons for more than a decade on another instrument though and also did about 7 years of music theory. I’ve been teaching myself through following book/video resources, but I am not really progressing at a decent pace anymore because of a lack of guidance (I think).
I would like to develop a good wide foundation in various techniques and styles, I am currently mainly messing around with some bluesy lead improvisation and classic rocky songs which I am enjoying, however my main focus/long-term goals is targeted at symphonic metal. I do compose music and would like to develop some skills there as well. I know lots of educated/skilled guitarists or people-in-music find the metal thing quite juvenile and annoying – but it’s what I am into and it hasn’t changed in a few years and although I enjoy a lot of other music, it doesn’t seem like it is going to go away.
1. I have never had a lessons from anyone except for a few really terrible one-off experiences
2. Person needs to be able to read music and have music theory knowledge
3. Nobody that needs to smoke while/where teaching, I have quite bad asthma and it doesn’t go
4. Reliability is important, and I appreciate a goal-oriented approach. Even though this is a hobby for me, I want to learn/practice/progress. I also think I know the things that I am struggling with.
5. I am in the East-Rand so closer here would be preferred but if I have to, I will travel a bit. Would prefer going to someone than them coming to me because there are other people here to consider.
6. I can read sheetmusic (but still struggling to identify notes on 4 higher strings or when moving positions up), understand the basics of music theory, know basic open chords, barre chords, suspended chords, have some 7th/2nd/11 chord experience, know pentatonic shapes, pentatonic blues scales and the intro to a few techniques like bending, sliding, hammer-ons, pull-offs.
7. I am equipped and don’t need to buy anything gear-wise.
I am aware that this website has rules for commercial advertising and so on, and if it’s not possible to reply in this thread please send me a private message. If you know of someone, or are someone or can recommend someone – Please I am fairly desperate and have been trying to find someone for a while now.
I tried to check the services classifieds here but it shows 19 ads but nothing showing on my side. Please help

Just stepped out of my weekly lesson with her ?
Check with her but as far as I know she is willing to drive out to the East Rand for lessons depending on time of the week. I stay there as well and she's quite willing to move lessons to my house if it fits in with her schedule.
I also had a couple of years of playing / lessons / self-help behind me and wanted someone to help me put it all together and move forward and she's been great with that.
