the downside to your equipment?

everything has its upsides and downsides, list the downsides of your gear (if any) ? Fender FM65R amp, loud enough but plagued by that stupid fender amp trait of 0 is off and 1 is too loud to play at home >☹ my 80w marshall used to swell up quite nicely from 1-3 then over 4 it started getting its lungs

Neps

Cables.. guys, thats what makes life FUN!! In the studio there are runs of cables to who knows where!! Im most probably hooked into the main frame at NORAD and dont even know it!!

Same here!! when switching patches on my Boss ME-50 there's a split second of silence as it changes! A split second may not be much but it throws your rhythm.. other than that, its an amazing unit. ?

The pickups in my seven-string RG are too muddy and low output for my liking. The pickups in my six-string RG are really nice but also just lacking a little in the schematic of the perfect combination I have in mind, however these are going to be changed shortly as I almost have enough money to buy the new sets I want. I've also got another six string but fixed bridge that has really low output pickups that irritate me beyond words (nice for clean but not my thing) and the pickups in my newly acquired thrash around toy don't work - which is fine because the guitar is a steinberger copy and I only got it so that I can practice at college without having to deal with the weight and cumbersome size of an acoustic.

There are a few knobs that have been knocked off my amp thanks to average wear and tear which I'd want to get fixed sometime when money is available and there is a gash on one side of it thanks to bastard tech crews at certain theaters who no doubt dropped something on it and then taped over the gash assuming I wouldn't notice.

I'd like to get a new set of machineheads for my six-string RG as well seeing as the one's on the guitar are a different colour to all the other hardware, I also need to replace it's scratchplate as it's cut for H-S-H and I've wired the guitar as H-H instead, also I'd like to get Dunlop 6100 frets on all of my guitars but that's more a want than a problem.

I don't gig or play in any band, so, the weight I'd have to worry about is really non-existent......
The volume, now that may be a downside for many...... for me, I love loud (well, within reason) ? ......and I'm almost certain most metal bands will love loud too.....no, I don't play/like metal......

Bought my amp from Cash Converters. Some idiot (either at C.C or the guy who sold it) took out the original speaker and replaced it with this small car stereo speaker. It was tied to the original screws and centred to the middle of the cab with wool.Wool! Needless to say I took it out. Problem is I haven't replaced it so now I only play using earphones. Bugger.

bandmasters don't have reverb, would be a bonus if they did.

sweat marks from live shows tend to look real bad on vintage cherry.

hot rods deluxe's tend to be bass heavy in rooms but as soon as u gig in a club it becomes trebble heavy and has almost no bass.

my eqipment is big and isn't very comfortable in a 3x4 meter parctice area (the new ampeg stack was the cherry on top now we are suffering a bit)

placment of the volume knob sucks on my main guit so i take it off for shows now.

itsleft me broke

it leaves my GF jeliouse, whats the saying i'm looking for? happy wife, happy life.

Pity you gave it back for that reason....only should have shifted the guitar from your right leg to your left leg when sitting down...? (I assume your are playing right-handed.)

Mine is the long delay between my head and my hands......... ???

The downside is that it rocks so freakin' hard I might just rock myself to death man! ... ahem...

My bassman has no reverb, and I used to play surf guitar. That's a conundrum.

So then you look at outboard 'verb. Ah... the Fender reverb tank. Oh, wait. It costs more than my amp did. And I'm alarmed by the talk of having to hang it above the stage on chains.

So then you look at pedals. Then you find out that spring reverb is a chaotic effect relying on physics of turbulence and whatnot. What does it mean? It means that you can't accurately mimic it digitally. It's actually impossible with our current earth technology.

So you look at the hybrid pedals - pedals with a short spring in them, like the Spring King. Expensive, and there are mixed opinions about its ultimate awesomeness.

So, weighing up the pros and cons, you go for the EH Holy Grail. Most people say it does a fair job. It does. Most people say it's assembled by barely trained mongolian rats and will break down. It is. And it does.
