Hello!
I'm keen on amp modelling, and have a noob question. But first the background. My Line 6 pocket pod has an amp output (1/4-inch jack). I've plugged it into the front of my combo amp. When you do this, you choose the appropriate 'cabinet tuning mode' on the pocket pod. In my case, I choose the combo/head with closed back option. From YouTube, I understand that when you choose this option, amp and cab modelling is turned off, so that the sound is not coloured any further.
Could the pocket pod be plugged directly into a cab, like a Line 6 DT-25, for instance? This would be so that I can explore the different amp/cab modelling options that come with the pod.
Thank you for your help.

no not direct into a cab...
your pocket pod is a pre amp,
it will need to go thru some sort of standalone amp/head with the amps outputs into the cab
But ...You can plug straight into any powered speakers like studio monitors,pc speakers(pref with sub) etc etc
the sound will be quite good actually
But i presume we are talking home jamming only right?

Nope, you would need to amplify the signal.

Thanks guys for getting back to me. exsanguinator - yes, we're talking about home jamming. My idea is to just get a feel for the different kinds of amps modelled by the pocket pod, and how the modelled amps/cabs sound different from my own amp. I know nothing beats plugging into the real thing, like a deluxe reverb or a plexi, but this will do fine while I remain financially challenged ?
