Hi all,

Hope this is the right thread.
I have a 12 channel mixer with usb out that I use for home recording. I have only used the first 3 channels for a few years. Recently I used the mixer for a live performance and found that all channels are dead eccept the first 3 that I normally use.
I remember using the other channels a few years back and it was fine then. Could it be that dust or something caused the other channels to become unresponsive or do you think its broken?
Mabey it only needs a clean inside?
???
Did you check if you switched the "non-working" channels on ? Some models have a a button that switches the channels on or off. It is very strange that from channels 4 up none of them work. Also maybe you turned the gain all the way down ? Some models you need to push some buttons to send the signal to a specific AUX channel.

All channels are enabled. Gain is also quite high. I've realized that when using the dead channels a signal will suddenly come through for a while and then die after a while. It also seems that the "broken"channels are only sending a signal through the left stereo channel when the sound comes through. When the sound gets through it is also very soft.

I have checked and all channels are set to center and it is not panned to the left. Don't know why the sound shoots through the left stereo channel.
Looks like a few pots might require cleaning or replacement. (Gain pot) or the channel on-of switches need cleaning or replacement. Could be dust but it needs a professional cleaning job to last. It might be less expensive to buy a new modern one ?
