Rumours Robbed on Friday night

Hey guys, some unfortunate news but just so that you are aware

Rumours was robbed by an armed gang on Friday night after my band Ohgod's Joburg EP launch

I had just left but apparently 20 mins after i left an armed gang pulled in (must have been about 2am) and held up everyone and took the whole venues Cellphones, Wallets and Bar Till. Apparently the manager got beat up quite bad.

WHAT THE FU@#K is the world coming to when innocent and broke prog nerds get held up by a gang on a casual night out to support local music. >☹
Such a shame. Maybe thats why hardly anyone goes out these days because they are too scared of getting robbed.

I really wish there was something we could do about this...

Anyway, other than that it was a SUPER successful evening, great turn out, we sold a whole box of EP's and stellar performances from the other bands.

and most importantly no one was hurt and no gear was stolen... so ill try be positive...

This country was bad enough for music as it is, now it's just a total shithole.

They'll need to start having signs up outside the clubs soon saying: "Play gigs at risk of own life"

Yes, it does suck. And I think that crime in this country is a bit high. For the record, our home has been broken into.

Having said that, I do not agree with the "banana republic" status. We still live in a extremely beautiful country with a lot of opportunities. When we allow the criminal element to get us down, when we allow the criminal element to quite the silent majority, when we allow the criminal element to kill the music, then we are in trouble.

We need to stand up against the crime in ways that is within our means. Even with small things like obeying the rules of the road.

Common guys, let us not let this get us down.

Any amount of crime is too much!!

This is the banana republic with the biggest bunch of bananas in power!

I agree we must not let crime get us down, we must fight it, and many people do so by arming themselves, be it with a firearm or pepper spray.

Having relatives thats been raped and tortured for being white and having a farm that they work on I have no sympathy for the criminals or people sympathizing with the government and their criminal racist supporters.

If people were armed at that concert then I can bet my life on it those animals that were robbing them would have been dead!
