Renesongs

The word this week is Latin Rock
I mean Latin in the broadest sense from South American Rhamba, Samba, Salsa, Cuban, Cha Cha to the European Flamenco, Tango, Gypsy and Celt. It's got to have the beat. Good examples are Gary Moor's Parisian Walkway and just about everything that Carlos Santana does.

Maybe too broad a definition for Latin (I wouldn't include the Celts - Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, Big Country and Phil Lynott as Latinos? LOL). But I'll try break out my rosewood claves anyway...

My father in Law is Portuguese and has some old santana on vinyl. The problem is you never no if the speed of the solo is right until he starts to sing. ?

Oof this one is troubling. I'm a big fan of Santana but what that man does on a guitar is still waaay waaaay waaaaaay above my cababilities. Heck I made 4 full recordings and it still sounds anything but latin. O well, I've called it now as my fingers are seriously sore. Luckily I think the last recording came the closest so I'm in come hell or high water. I think this one requires a little bit of single note/lead style talent and that's something I'm afraid I have none of just yet.

I found it real easy to get the sound right. but getting it to really flow was real difficult, I still dont think I got it.

Because he competes he doesn't listen to any of them when they come in. I sent mine in on Wednesday and no-one has downloaded it yet, I receive a notification when it has been.
This stops cross pollination of ideas...

(I may actually have put my foot in it now... on second thought. hehehehe!)

After much discussion behind the scenes we have decided to make the weekly challenge run a whole week so the deadline for this week has been moved to 12pm on Monday 23rd. The even better news is that there will be a set of strings up for grabs for the winner in each category. So those who haven't entered yet you still have time and those who have entered you can spice your entry up a bit and resubmit yay ?
