Wooooo, the bar has been raised in Cat 2. These both strike me as potential Cat 3 entries, great sounding tunes both (production & mixing especially).

Beck : Intro & outro were great, overall mix sounded damn good to me. Liked the fact you lent on a less effected (or more natural?) sounding guitars in the mix.

Marvin : Yeeehaaaa, that's a detailed track - I'd say maybe a touch long - but I was entertained throughout. Kudo's for the attention to detail - really liked this track!

Beck:

Enjoyed the lead, and overall excellent job. I think this could have done with a bit of punch. Drums, and particularly the kick could have come up a few dBs, and maybe a driving guitar in rhythms could have helped.

Marvin:

Loved it. This could really be worked into a prog sci-fi epic. I'm really not a fan of EZDrummer samples, but that's my only gripe ?

Both Beck and Marvin - quality of playing and, to my ear, recording could be in the "advanced" (or did someone maention that before.

For me Marvin managed to evoke in me the images of the brief.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Finally got an audio interface and a set of studio monitors. Been a lot of fun playing around with these guys. Appreciate all the comments and input, keen for the next challenge now! ?
