toms rivonia opening

so...I pulled through to the opening of TOMS rivonia today. was a pretty cool event. bumped into stoffeltoo there (hi again). I also handed off my polytune to a dude who bought it from me.

Watched Daniel Baron and Newton's Second law. really dig the vocalist from newton's second law! the bands were pretty tight.

I bought some elixirs for my electric and a cheap set of acoustic strings from the R50 string bin. There were some pretty cool specials and some product demos. I find the shop a little small, but then there were like a gazillion people and I am more used to the spacious Music Connection.

anyone else go through?

Yep, I was there.
I setup in the studio department section with some guitars and the Kemper...it was nice and spacious in there, less chance of over eager customers damaging guitars. ?

I met quite a few forum members (Tokai owners) who introduced themselves to me...really nice to meet them.

freak! I should have asked BEFORE going who all would be there. I actually went in there and had a quick look at the kemper. I have a rule where I don't play any gear until I have the money to try it out... and with the kemper I'm scared I would dig it and change my mind about not being able to justify the cost for what it can do vs my current multi effects and the one I want to upgrade to. this has happened in the past when I didn't really think I would get a prs ever cos of it being popular.. I don't like to "follow crowds"...But then I played one and the rest is history. Lol.

Nice seeing you guys in the flesh. Well after a visit to Lance's store, well lets just say watch the space. I have a gap to be filled.

Warren lekker to see you again. I took some fellow muso's from the Vaal to find their dream guitars.

Pleased to say that they both got what they wanted and went home with a brand spanking new gear and at very good prices. ? I purchased four sets of Elixers at a very reasonable price as treat.

I just want to commend the professional approach of every Toms employee at the store. TOMS you rock. Made the effort of parting with moola for goods worth our while ?

Ooh and I saw and heard the Kemper profiler. Stunning stuff pity I cannot afford one now :'(

I popped in...to many ppl ...did not see u lance but I got there earliesh....nothing left handed as I saw..

If I saw correctly a,erican standard now 30k...American std with custom shop pups 36k...that's eye watering.

To be honest I prefereed the ole TOMS in sandton..

On the upside I saw Pieter there, last saw him long time ago and the lass behind the counter, always smiling...
